Last updated: March 2026
Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before registering for or attending the retreat. By completing your registration, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Registration & Agreement
By registering for the retreat, you (“Participant”) enter into a binding agreement with the retreat organizer (“Organizer”) and Cerro Verde Retreats & Management, S.R.L. and its U.S. affiliate Cerro Verde Retreats LLC (collectively, “CVR”). These Terms apply to all activities, sessions, and events held during the retreat.
2. Health & Wellbeing
2.1 Participants are responsible for assessing their own physical and mental fitness prior to attending.
2.2 You agree to inform the Organizer of any medical conditions, injuries, physical limitations, dietary requirements, or mental health considerations that may affect your participation. This information will be kept confidential.
2.3 The Organizer reserves the right to ask a Participant to refrain from certain activities if it is deemed necessary for their safety or the safety of others.
2.4 Participation in yoga, meditation, breathwork, or other wellness activities is entirely
voluntary. You are encouraged to listen to your body and practice within your own limits at all times.
3. Code of Conduct
The retreat is a shared space. All Participants are expected to uphold the following standards throughout the duration of the retreat:
3.1 Respect & Inclusivity — Treat all participants, facilitators, and staff with dignity and respect, regardless of background, ability, gender, religion, nationality, or experience level. Discriminatory, offensive, or exclusionary behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
3.2 Non-Harassment — Any form of harassment — including verbal, physical, or sexual — is strictly prohibited. This includes unwanted physical contact, inappropriate comments, and any behavior that causes another person to feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
3.3 Boundaries — Respect the physical and emotional boundaries of others at all times.
Consent must be sought and clearly given before any physical contact (e.g. partner stretches, healing touch practices).
3.4 Language & Communication — Engage in conversations with kindness, openness, and curiosity. Avoid interrupting, dismissing, or speaking over others. Maintain confidentiality regarding personal stories shared by fellow participants during the retreat.
3.5 Noise & Quiet Hours — Be mindful of others’ need for rest and reflection. Observe
designated quiet hours as communicated by the Organizer. Keep noise levels considerate in shared spaces.
3.6 Substance Use — Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the retreat is an alcohol- and drug-free environment. The use of alcohol, recreational drugs, or any mind-altering substances during the retreat is strictly prohibited.
3.7 Phones & Technology — Participants are asked to minimize phone and device use during sessions and in communal spaces. Specific guidance on digital detox periods will be communicated in advance.
3.8 Punctuality — Please arrive on time for all sessions out of respect for facilitators and fellow participants. Latecomers may be asked to wait until an appropriate pause before entering.
3.9 Environmental Respect — Treat the retreat venue and surrounding environment with care. Leave shared spaces clean and tidy, and follow any sustainability or environmental guidelines provided.
4. Consequences of Breach
4.1 The Organizer reserves the right to remove any Participant from the retreat at any time if their behavior is deemed harmful, disruptive, or in breach of these Terms.
4.2 In the event of removal, no refund will be issued for any unused portion of the retreat.
4.3 In serious cases, the Organizer may involve local authorities where appropriate.
5. Liability, Assumption of Risk & Release
5.1 Assumption of Risk. Participation in all retreat activities — including but not limited to yoga, meditation, breathwork, excursions, adventure activities, and transportation — is entirely voluntary and at your own risk. You acknowledge that such activities carry inherent risks, including physical injury, illness, or property loss, and you voluntarily assume all such risks.
5.2 Release of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you hereby release and hold harmless the Organizer, Cerro Verde Retreats & Management, S.R.L., Cerro Verde Retreats LLC, and each of their respective affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, and contractors (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, damages, losses, or liabilities of any kind arising out of or related to your participation in the retreat, whether occurring before, during, or after the event, and whether on or off the retreat premises. This release includes claims arising from the acts or omissions of third-party vendors engaged by the Released Parties.
This release does not apply in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct by a
Released Party.
5.3 Insurance. Participants are strongly advised to obtain appropriate travel, health, and
personal liability insurance prior to attending.
5.4 Force Majeure. The Released Parties are not responsible for any costs, losses, or damages incurred due to travel delays, cancellations, natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, or other circumstances beyond their reasonable control.
6. Privacy
Any personal information collected during registration will be used solely for the purposes of managing your attendance and will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except where required by law.
7. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica for matters arising in connection with the retreat venue or on-site activities. Any disputes shall first be submitted to non-binding mediation in Orange County, California or San José, Costa Rica, at the election of the Organizer. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the applicable region. The substantially prevailing party is entitled to reasonable attorney’s fees and costs.
